Lifegate has been created to provide its readers with a version of the New Testament that uses common English wording to convey the meaning of the original Greek text, without adding to, subtracting from, or changing the text, so that the original meaning is conveyed in contemporary English clearly. This version can be easily read and understood by a speaker of 21st century American English. It was written to avoid using outdated words and phrases or confusing word order that might puzzle a contemporary reader. Although the verses are worded in a simple, straightforward style, every effort has been made to retain the literary beauty and rich meaning of the original.
