Carter has his assignment. If he can find out how an entire group of people can just disappear, maybe the Reformers can make other groups of undesirables disappear, too. Then suddenly his search for answers is disrupted when a solar flare knocks out the power grid. As he battles food shortages and violence, he comes across James who tells him the two events are connected.
