Ellie is a soft-spoken, six-year-old who lives in Colorado Springs with her grandparents. Faced with her first first-grade "winter" project Mrs. Canker sprung on the class, Ellie is nervous but confident because her cheerful sweet grandmother is right there to support her. Ellie's Grandfather is a stern and efficient retired serviceman who most times falls quietly into the background to his wife and granddaughter but is always at the forefront. Set in his ways, Ellie will soon learn that old can be made new again.
