8In this booklet you will read about something which the Lord Jesus Christ asked His disciples to do, so that they would remember Him after He had gone back to heaven. It is called the Lord's Supper (1 Corinthians 11:20).The Lord's Supper is essentially very simple, involving breaking and eating from a loaf of bread, and drinking from a cup of wine. Because of this, it is often referred to as "the breaking of bread" (Acts 2:42) in the New Testament.Some people have also called it a "Communion Service." This description is only given to it indirectly in the New Testament (1 Corinthians 10:16), but the idea of communion - that is fellowship and sharing - is very much part of the Lord's Supper, because it is for those who are in the fellowship of a local church.
