notes

The original 12" LP issue of tracks #2-6, 10, 11 and #13-15 was Blue Note BLP 1526.
#1-6 originally issued on 10" LP 5030.
#10-15 originally issued on BLP 5032.
Tracks 1, 7-9, 12, and 16-18 are bonus tracks, not part of original 12" album.

Tracks #1 thru #9 were recorded June 9th 1953 at WOR studios in NYC.
Tracks #10 thru #18 were recorded August 28th 1953 at Audio Video Studios in NYC.

#1-9, 17 & 18 are transferred from the original analog tapes. The drop-outs on track 17 are in the original tape. The low-level buzz on some of the June 9, 1953 selections is in the original tape.

Note: Because this CD does not conform in content to the original 12" LP, we have not included the original liner notes. The original LP mixed various sessions in incomplete form. This CD reissue presents the music of each session as it was recorded and in complete form.
