Penny for your Thoughts

It is safe to say that the internet, as we know it, took off some time in the mid to late 1990's.  If you're old enough to remember, there was a lot to be desired to view.  Content was sparse, commerce was in its infancy and most households, provided they had a computer, were still in dial up mode.  This was before Google, Youtube ... If you had an online presence, chances were that many found your site by virtue of the fact that you were one of the early adopters of this relatively new technology.  Well things have changed considerably since those days; an internet site is no longer sufficient to be noticed.

Content is what really matters.  Sharing information about the services you provide, the products you produce, the goods you sell, your influences, the history of your industry, even a help line is what is now required to gain true visibility.  This is exacly what constitutes a blog; the willingness and ability to share information online.

Like many of us, you may feel/believe that you have nothing to write about.  Fret not; you have tons of information moving around in that brain of yours.  Simply by describing what decisions were involved in the purchase of an item you hope to sell or what led you to become a professional in a given industry may offer opportunities you never realized were available.

Here is an interesting theory that may encourage you to write.  According to the 1% rule, there is a huge disparity between the number of people viewing/reading content versus those writing about it i.e. 99:1.  This means that for every 1 person posting some information on a forum or writing an article, there are at least 99 others who read it.  Hmmmm, do you get how this works?  As a writer, you become part of a unique club, and as part of that club, you gain all sorts of attention that you will not otherwise have witnessed.  So if you want to grow your business, this is the way it's done.

Have fun writing; many of us are interested in what you have to say.
