Do I have to spend a lot of money to buy a good wine?

No! We think there are good wines at all price points, and certainly you can find a nice "everyday" wines at even $10. CityWine tastes everything we sell and our value-add for you is that we help find nice wines at the lower price points. Lastly, to get more "special" wines, sometimes you do have to spend some money... but we think there are very cool and special wines in the $20-30 range.

What do you recommend as a really good date wine if I want to impress the ladies?

Well, something "sexy" of course! Personally I think a sophisticated bubbly fits the bill, especially if you pair it with some well-chosen cheese or charcuterie. Or go with a silky, voluptuous red (no tannic oak-bombs!), being adventurous (Spain, Argentina... you know, sexy places). Spend a few bucks to let him/her know you care; serve it in nice stems. And if you are not eating (nothing like cooking for your date!), be sure the wine is suitable for drinking solo (not too much acidity, etc).
